USA Weightlifting Club Coach
Paul graduated from Menlo College with a Bachelor of Science Degree
in Business Management. Paul’s background as a personal trainer
focuses on Olympic Weightlifting, and has just earned his rank as a USA
club level coach. He was the assistant strength coach at Sacred Heart
Cathedral in San Francisco for four years under his older brother Kevin,
a senior level Weightlifting Coach. He then followed his brother to Lincoln
high school and has helped develop the strength and conditioning program
there. At Lincoln, He and his brother developed “Jump Camp,” an
Olympic Weightlifting camp for high school athletes aimed at building
explosive power for sports. Today this camp has grown to nearly 300 athletes.
Paul’s accomplishments as a National Level Weightlifter
include:
PWA (Pacific Weightlifting Association) Junior Champion 2001
California State Championships, Outstanding Junior Lifter 2002
American Open Qualifier 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004
Under 23 and Collegiate National Championships 6th place 2003
Under 23 and Collegiate National Championships 5th place 2004
Senior National Championships Qualifier 2004
Paul is currently training
for the 2008 Olympic Games and hopes to earn a trip to the Olympic
Trials where he can qualify for Team USA.
