FIT BBC Coach Rob uses tactile cueing to help Belen (one of FIT’s Junior lifters) to understand the optimal position for her back and hips during the starting position for the snatch.  The correct starting position includes feet directly beneath the hips, toes angles slightly outward (external rotation).  Keep bar very near, or touching the shins, the knees will track over the toes.  Movement initiates from your trunk with a huge deep breath (to sill the lunges and raise the sternum forward), setting up contraction through the back, locking the chest up.  The first pull immediately follows.
