FIT BBC welcomes Evan to the crew.&amp;nbsp; Evan has been a CrossFIT Los Altos regular for quite some time and then he decided he wanted to increase his 1RM on his squat.&amp;nbsp; What better place to increase strength, squatting technique, and power than with our weightlifting team?&amp;nbsp; He came into this workout not sure if he could squat more than 100kg.&amp;nbsp; He maxed out at 137kg.&amp;nbsp;</description>

Last week we saw the scissors on the rack that reminded the &#8220;Bear&#8221; about his agreement to squat 100kg before his 14th birthday.&amp;nbsp; This week: the photo of him squatting 102.5kg.&amp;nbsp; Yeahhh!

This is the &#8220;Bear&#8217;s&#8221; rack &#45; &#45; &#45; a reminder that he had until his 14th birthday (8 days ago) to back squat 100kg.&amp;nbsp; Not only did he squat his 100kg, he smashed a single at 102.5kg a few minutes afterwards.&amp;nbsp; It&#8217;s amazing the power of a pair of scissors coupled with the threat of a mullet.&amp;nbsp; Way to go kid!&amp;nbsp; Check Bear out in the Kid Spotlight of the Month!</description>

FIT BBC Coach Rob &#8220;Bob&#8221; shows the high hang position during the snatch.&amp;nbsp; This is essential when teaching the transition between the 2nd and 3rd pull, in which the body is pulled violently beneath the bar.&amp;nbsp; In this position, it is important to keep the trunk tall, tight, after pulling the hips into the bar, and maintaining bar positioning close to the body.&amp;nbsp;</description>
