Photo - A loaded barbell awaits an FIT Teen.  Barbell exercises are still arguably the most productive movements that can be accomplished in the gym.  Other great implements include dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, etc.  The barbell allows more weight to be lifted in movements like the squat, bench and deadlift and more power to be generated in movements such as the Snatch and Clean and Jerk versus any other movement.  Every gym should include barbells and weights (preferably bumper plates).
