For those of you who are interested...just a few foods that have kept me "anchored" and enabled me to maintain my current weight while adventuring out to other foods that weren't included during my 8 week experiment....

Fiber One - 1 serving=1/2c, 60 cal, 1g-F, 25g-CHO, 14g-Fiber, 2g-P
Egg Whites - 1 large egg=70 cal, 1 egg white=16 cal
Fat Free Cottage Cheese - 1 serving=1/2c, 90 cal, 0g-F, 7g-CHO, 11g-P
Fage 2% Yogurt - 1 serving=1c, 130 cal, 4g-F, 8g-CHO, 17g-P
Brussel Sprouts (YUM!) - 1 sprout (approx. .7oz)=8 cal, .1g-F, 1.5g-CHO, .5g-P
Green Beans - (CAN EAT TONS!) - 10 beans (approx) = 20 cal, .1g-F, 4g-CHO, 1g-F

These are the ones I know off of the top of my head....more to come...
Please share if anybody else has these same types of foods within their daily regimen -

Analisa, I like the "anchor foods" idea. I have given that some thoughts. It's a great idea to have anchor foods, those whose nutritional values we are wholly familiar with. To me, they create a base to which other foods can be added in controlled amounts, or from which we can venture to try other less-familiar foods but are always there for us to return to and have the comfort that they are safe, nutritious, and healthful.

When beginning a healthy eating habit, I think it's invaluable to have a handful of anchor foods. The idea is to gradually add more anchor foods to your life. Know what foods are good, know their nutritional values, and add them to your list of anchor foods. Before long, you have a diet of nothing but great, healthful foods you once called "anchor foods."

This has worked very well for me.

Thanks for sharing your "anchor foods." I believe Fiber One will be added to my "list."
