We have a slick and thick (2" diameter) rope at Tempus. Only a few people have been able to climb it without using gloves and their feet. After several weeks of trying I was finally able to do it, and for some reason, it wasn't all that difficult. A few days later I tried it again and couldn't come close. What was the difference?
I think it had to do with all the grip work I was doing before the successful climb. I did some false grip pull downs as well as having some threading issues with my Elite Rings which required pinching strength. I think all that forearm and finger work increased the blood flow to that area. Has anyone else noticing anything similar?
