Six-time UFC champion Randy Couture will return to the Octagon this November, ending an 11-month legal battle with the promotion he’s called his home for the last 11 years.

As part of a new three-fight contract with Zuffa LLC, parent company to the UFC, Couture (16-8) will face Brock Lesnar (2-1) at UFC 91 on Nov. 15 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. The bout will be waged over five rounds for Couture’s heavyweight championship title.

Here's my conspiracy theory on the topic...

Couture WAS the HW champ but "left" Zuffa, so they had to put a match together for the interim HW title...in comes Nogueira as the interim HW champ who is defending next against the last guy to beat Lesnar, the former champ Frank Mir. Either way these fights go, you have an interim champ (Nogueira or Mir) and an uncrowned champ (Couture or Lesnar)...can you smell a unification fight in early 2009??? Big Buy Rates!!!

There's also the GSP vs BJ fight (Welter champ vs LW champ) and the musch anticipated UFC/WEC MW unification fight between the Spider and Filho!!!

I thought Randy would either win by wearing him down and ground and pound or it would be that easy for Lesnar. Unfortunately I thought the latter of the two was more likely even though I wanted Randy to win. Oh well, Randy is gracious in defeat and Lesnar winning creates some interesting match-ups.
